Full Moon Stew


A hearty and complex melange of comforting winter flavors. Beautifully balanced between spice, sour, savory and sweet - you can taste the individual components as well as the overall blend. Created at a full moon, and reflecting the bright orange yellow of the harvest nighttime sky.

Ingredients

Olive oil
One pound 85/15 ground beef
One pound traditional ground sausage
1 tsp smoke flavor
1 Tbsp Worcestershire
1/2 chopped yellow onion
2 tsp minced garlic
Smoked paprika 1/2 tsp
Tumeric 1 tsp
Curry powder 1/2 tsp?
Fresh ground black pepper - about 1/2 tsp total or to taste
1 Tbsp better than bullion beef paste
2/3 can of bavarian style sweet sauerkraut, drained a bit
1 small can tomato paste / no salt added
One box (32oz) 50% less sodium beef stock
One block Philadelphia Cream Cheese
Two handfuls of chopped green cabbage (2 cups) or a third of a small head
Same rough amount of chopped white cauliflower
1/2 cup orzo pasta
